Have you ever tried udon that is served with mochi rice cakes as one of its toppings? This type of udon is called chikara udon (literally translated as âpower udonâ), and this product is the instant version of these unique noodles.
Despite the soup consisting of a complex blend of bonito, kombu, and seafood, it has a refined aftertaste, so you can easily finish this udon without feeling tired of it. Further, this product also includes shichimi togarashi (Japanese mixed spices) as a condiment, so you can accentuate the taste of the soup.
Enjoy and compare the texture of the noodles and rice cake by eating both to discover the difference in chewiness and elasticity.
Peel off the lid just to the point where the arrow and dotted line are drawn (i.e. almost the halfway point), then remove the packets of powdered soup and mochi rice cake from the cup.
Note that the soup package is 2-in-1: the larger packet includes the soup while the smaller one contains shichimi togarashi spices.
Open the soup packet and mochi packet, then add them to the cup. Pour hot water until the water level reaches the line on the inner side of the cup.
After pouring, close the lid, and wait for 5 minutes.
Remove the lid, add the shichimi togarashi, and stir well. After mixing these ingredients, the udon is ready to eat.
