The Myojo Chukazanmai series is one of the sub-brands of instant noodles manufacturer Myojo. These high-class instant noodles recreate the taste of prominent Chinese restaurants in Japan. This product is an instant version of sura tanmen noodles and is supervised by Akasaka Eirin.
Sura tanmen (âSuan La Tang Mianâ in Chinese), also known as Chinese hot and sour soup noodles, literally has exquisite harmony of sourness and spiciness. This product also includes a Chinese black vinegar and roasted sesame seeds to make its taste closer to Akasaka Eirinâs sura tanmen.
The Akasaka Eirin is one of the long-established Chinese restaurants in Akasaka (this restaurant has moved to Kagurazaka district in 2021), and is very famous for the sura tanmen.
Prepare 1 beaten egg; although eggs make this product tastier, you can enjoy it without eggs.
Put the noodles into 500ml (16.9 us fl oz.) of hot water and cook for 3 minutes while unraveling them. After 3 minutes, turn off the heat, and transfer only the noodles to a ramen bowl. Do not drain the water at this point.
Turn on the heat again, add powdered soup to the pot of water and mix it well. Turn the heat up to high, add the beaten egg to the pot, and stir until it is cooked well.
Turn off the heat, add liquid soup and lightly mix it. Then transfer the soup to the ramen bowl, and the sura tanmen is ready to eat. You can add some toppings including shiitake mushrooms, bamboo shoots, snow peas, sliced ham, and more.
