The fantastic texture, the great flavor, the fact that the rice is clearly sourced from a small town, or a small farm, where quality produce is key. Japanese rice truly is special.
Unfortunately, it's not so easy to find quality organic Japanese rice outside of Japan. This Koshihikari rice comes from JAS certified organic small and medium sized farms in the natural paradise of the Tamba region, where the mountain air, crystal clear water, and nutrient-rich roil come together to create a wonderful environment for growing natural produce.
This form of Koshihikari is the fluffy white rice youâre used to seeing in Japanese restaurants. White rice takes its place alongside breakfast, lunch and dinner in Japan, and has long been the rice of choice thanks to its sticky, soft, and fluffy texture. Pair it with simmered fish, Japanese curry, or make sushi and onigiri - the options are endless.
This Koshihikari rice is prepared in a unique way to ensure that only the freshest rice is delivered all year round. While most farmers harvest and husk rice in the fall, the farms in Tamba store their rice within the husks, and only remove the husks when they're ready to be packed and shipped.
This time-consuming process ensures that this organic Japanese rice maintains its quality in its natural form.
